What makes Astrum the best choice for your cleaning needs?

About Astrum Commercial Cleaning Services

Formed in 1993 by Simon Jevons and Finnian Brown, Astrum Commercial Cleaning Services has grown from a start up cleaning business to one of the largest privately owned commercial cleaning & security companies in the East and West Midlands.

Cleaning remains the core service offered today, but over the years a number of complementary services have been added. Customers now enjoy access to a comprehensive portfolio that includes full washroom provision, carpet & hard floor cleaning and sector-specific cleaning such as for schools.

Growth has come through reputation and recommendation. From its beginnings in Birmingham the business has expanded to cover the East and West Midlands. The Head Office is in Meriden, close to Birmingham Airport, with local offices in Coventry and Nottingham/Derby. Astrum now looks after over 200 customers and employs in excess of 600 operatives. Geographical coverage is organised so that customers always deal with a local manager, whatever part of the Midlands you are based in.

The company’s ethos is to build a strong relationship with our customers. By fully understanding your needs, we can consistently meet – or often exceed – your expectations. Staff training and systems are designed to ensure that we are responsive at all times.

The pressures and demands of running a business day-to-day often mean that the softer side of life gets forgotten about. Astrum is a proud supporter of the Royal British Legion. Staff are given time off to run a collection station and in the 2016 Poppy Appeal raised in excess of £4,000. In 2017, we collected a whopping £7,000+. A charity day is run from our Head Office in August each year, raising over £2,000 in 2016. Both directors are mentors for The Prince’s Trust, and have helped many young start up businesses over the last 10 years.

How else have we helped?

We run an annual charity garden fete, in aid of a nominated charity. Each year this event raises about £2,000. This is planned and run by our hardworking team at the Birmingham office. If you’d like to attend this year, please speak to Marianne Barber.

Both Directors of Astrum are mentors for The Prince’s Trust. As a mentor each Director helps to coach underprivileged young individuals, who have started a small business. This work is rewarding and offers these youngsters an opportunity to work with an experienced businessman, who otherwise may have not been accessible to them.
